Event Norms: Cornerstone Safety Group

One of the benefits of Cornerstone Safety Group membership is access to problem solving discussions with peer organizations. At our Networking Groups and Trainings, business leaders are supported by their peers as we discuss issues we collectively face in the experiential education and travel industry.

To that end, we abide by a set of “event norms” that allow for this transparent communication. The norms provided below are an informal agreement that all Networking Group and Training attendees (as well as Cornerstone employees) honor in our group interactions.

Cornerstone Community Event Norms

To make Cornerstone meetings and trainings beneficial for all participants, we ask that attendees abide by the following etiquette. When we follow these norms, the value of each session increases and attendees are more likely to make peer connections. In return, we at Cornerstone will abide by the best practices and expectations set forth below, as event organizers.

The goal of the Cornerstone Networking Group is to share risk management, mental health or medical challenges as they relate to your organization so that we can learn from and support one another. Thank you for your cooperation and involvement in our community!

Participant Expectations:

As a community, we expect …

  • Active participation in a professional, respectful, and inclusive manner.

  • Understanding of the variety of organizations included, recognizing that every voice is an equal voice regardless of individual years of experience or size of the company represented.

  • Cameras turned on when possible, so that we can build human connection remotely.

  • Honest and transparent dialogue.

  • Attendees are not expected to share confidential information or breach intellectual property. Discussed topics should not be used against other members or for competitive gain.

  • Thoughtful feedback before and after sessions if you’d like a future topic addressed or to provide observations to the Cornerstone staff.

Event Organizer Expectations:

As event organizers, we’re committed to …

  • Creating a supportive, positive environment in which attendees can feel comfortable sharing their challenges, concerns, and learning from one another.

  • Building a community of organizations, big and small, who are committed to treating human safety as a responsibility, not as intellectual property.

  • Acting as a bridge for connections between business leaders who wish to support one another.

  • Responding to feedback and topic requests in a timely manner.

** Please note that these meetings are not recorded. This is to facilitate candor and transparent communication, as well as ensure we have live connection between attendees.
